German poker player Moritz Ortmann finished fourth in the Pokerstars.net Asian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Seoul No-Limit Hold Em' Main Event at the Paradise Walker-Hill Casino in South Korea earlier this month.

The top prize of $129, 253 was won by American Andrew Kim who defeated fellow compatriot Vincent Rubianes in the heads up stage of the tournament and fans of poker online will have been impressed. Kim had 3,005,000 chips in comparison to Rubianes' 2,120,000 as the table whittled down to just two players. In his final hand, Rubianes went all-in pre-flop with a pair of 10s. Kim called the hand with AK and managed to flop an Ace which was enough to give him top pair after the river card was revealed.

Ortmann received a payout of $94, 448 for finishing in top four in the event that attracted 264 entrants and was the only German in the top ten of the placings. A four-way deal was struck with Kim, Rubianes and third-placed Rafael Rodrigo.

It was Ortmann who eliminated Japan's Daisuke Endo in eighth place. The German developed a club flush on the river but already held top pair before that point as Endo took a poker gamble with off-suited J3 before the flop.

Ortmann then picked up his next scalp in the form of Jose Servinho from Panama. The European called his South American opponent's all-in call and was relieved to see Servinho turn over AQ whilst he was sitting with suited AK.

Despite his good run, Ortmann's luck eventually ran out when he took a chance on pocket deuces. Rubianes went into the flop with AK and managed to come off with two pairs which were enough to send the German packing.
